Wargaming Itches

Hello Warriors,

was browsing Twitter while enjoying a relaxing Saturday and my eyes locked on this:

Basically it translates to "How many of you know it? What was the official name of the Jagdpanzers "Hetzer"? =)"

First, there isn't such a thing as "was" because what people mistakenly call Hetzer IS a Jagdpanzer 38(t);
Second, that is G-13.

Oh Wargaming, you so silly that it becomes adorable.

20.06.2015 Q&A

 Here it is:

- Q: "The guy who rebalanced Soviet medium penetration should be hanged by the balls!" A: "Why are you rude?"
- In 9.9 apart from two maps 14 old vehicles will be reworked to HD
- Storm states that the alleged duty of every WG employee to play WoT as a part of his job is a myth
- Developers are not working on multi-layer carousel in the garage because it's not necessary, instead there will be improved filters
- Storm praises the XVM guys for making a fix that removes the Domination tanks from the first spots in the garage carousel
- For now there are no plans to switch GW E-100 for anything
- Multiturret mechanism for multiturret Japanese heavies? "I don't understand why would you need a machinegun-equipped miniturret when you have a 150mm gun" (adds that these small miniturret guns wouldn't be useful even against very light targets such as the French)
- Lowest tier Japanese heavy tank will be tier 3
- Giving out exclusive lowtier tanks to elite players is not a good idea (sealclubbing)
- Multiturret vehicles are about 15 vehicles, almost all lowlevel
- The WoT audience is not very interested in playing lowlevel tanks (by lowlevel Storm means tanks until level 5)
- Armored cars are not considered to be implemented for now (not even for 2016) - there are too few medium and high tiers and there aren't cars for all the nations
- There will not be more light tanks for now
- Maus secondary gun (75mm short) would be useless as well, it can't penetrate Batchat from the front and not even always through the sides but it might be fun for PvE mode
- Average battle takes 7 minutes but average life expectancy of one player in battle is 4 minutes
- Storm would like to have the hydropneumatic suspension of STB-1 in the game but he is not a manager, he can't give the order to implement it, there are other people who need to be convinced that the players need this feature
- Experimenting with existing mechanisms (such as penetration) on live servers is very dangerous
- There are no plans for one man training rooms. The fact that Gaijin has those doesn't mean much: "with their low online numbers it's not a problem"
- Offline maps (with clientside calculations) will not be made
- There are no special measures being taken (for example during map rework) to shorten the combat distance
- The reworked Murovanka was a real improvement according to Storm
- New sounds in WoT? "What can I say. We are working on it. No ETA."
- T110E5 in HD will come "a bit later" than 0.9.9
- WG's T110E5 is not really historical, it's more like "inspired by T110 program"
- There will not be any free premium VK4502B for players
- Storm doesn't know how the developers will make tank parts (bags, fuel tanks) shake and stuff on the move (whether by Havok or otherwise) but it will be done
- Regarding penetration: "We are trying to make it historical but if it doesn't fit the balance, we will adjust it. It was always like that."
- The mission to get free FV4202 will be available to everyone who has it unlocked (no ETA)
- Storm confirms: the S-Tank will be implemented
- S-Tank suspension has nothing to do with new motion physics
- It's possible that the BL-9 on IS-3 is too short, Storm will investigate
- Object 757 will not be implemented, it's too OP
- Developers are working on balancing the Mammut
- The tier 8-10 penetration consists of only nerfs, vehicles with lower penetration such as АМХ 1390, Т32, АТ-15 will not get any buffs
- There are no plans to give players who paid a lot of money to WG some free stuff (exclusive tanks)

And the Daily, wonder what are his archer stats:

World of Warships: How to NOT suck

Hello Warriors,

The Mighty Jingles made a very good tutorial video on how not to suck at World of Warships. If you have been playing the game, I highly recommend to watch it:

"If I said to you "What's Port?" and your answer is "A fortified wine from Portugal served by the Wardroom Steward at Mess Dinners" you're either a Royal Naval Officer or someone who could probably benefit from watching this video. There's no cure for being a Royal Naval Officer, but the cure for sucking at World of Warships is just one click away."

Armored Warfare: M113

 Hello Warriors,

check out this Armored Warfare article about the history of the M113 and how it got applied in-game:

"...and so it was that in the third month of the 2020 campaign against the Lions of Nequiel the entire force of Jerusalem Dragoons was lost on the plains of Jericho. Swarms of anti-tank guided missiles descended upon the doomed machines and the sky went dark as the smoke billowed from the vehicles struck and on fire. At the end of the day the company was no more. But fate is a fickle thing – it turns and twists and often depends on the smallest of things, such as one young private, wounded and dying in the wreck of his mauled M113 APC."

19.06.2015 Q&A

 Here it is:

- The client side of the Bigworld was heavily modified for Xbox purposes
- Developers had a look at the T-54 Prototype premium, there is no need to buff it, it won't be given limited MM
- Currently developers are working on instruments that would allow them to quickly convers the old motion values to new motion physics, they don't want the new physics to negatively influence gameplay
- HD E-75 will come relatively soon, its armor should not change
- The packet of data transferred to client after the battle ends is relatively large, it can happen that the server doesn't sometimes transfer it correctly and that's when you will get "results unavailable" message
- The people who made the personal missions are very experienced players (65+ winrate often), it's possible the first iteration was too difficult because experienced players did it
- the current penetration test is just a test, there is no need to panic, developers will assemble and analyze the statistics first
- Current normalization is 5 degrees for AP rounds and 2 for subcaliber rounds
- There are no plans for radical improvement of medium tank mobility
- Q: "I didn't see KV-5 in the list of penetration changes!" A: "Should we nerf that too?"
- Roughly 10 percent of ammunition used by heavies and meds on tier 10 is gold ammunition (this percentage increases when fighting heavily armored targets)
- Storm disagrees with one player's statement that gold ammo was nerfed enough while regular ammo was nerfed too much
- WG considers a hardcap on gold ammo pointless
- Storm confirms the ghost shell bug (shells flying through targets) at close distances, WG is actively working on fixing it
- Artillery will be reworked
- WG developers are aware and do not want the situation where medium tanks are penetrating heavies at 500 meters from the front. Removing tier 10 medium tank gold shells however would not fix that as their regular shells are effective as well and the percentage of use of gold ammo of hightier mediums is very low. Medium tank penetration nerf of regular shells should make them do what they should do: flank
- Centurion will be buffed "if necessary"

Maus has interesting statistics according to Storm. It is the target the other players are using gold ammo against the most. 21 percent of rounds that are fired at it is gold ammo. 60 percent of the fired gold ammo penetrates. 44 percent of non-gold ammo fired at Maus penetrates. And so, out of 100 non-HE rounds hitting the Maus 79 rounds are not gold, 35 out of those 79 rounds do damage. 21 rounds are gold and 13 do damage.

- There are no plans for now to test viewrange changes
- Storm commenting on players panicking that new reworked Prokhorovka would have corridors: "with your logic even the old one has corridors". He however confirms: the leaked Prokhorovka is a test map with increased size, Prokhorovka or Fiery Salient will not be touched in 0.9.9
- the HD M46 turret is incorrect it will be fixed
- Storm has no idea what will they do with the Mammoth until it isn't configured properly
- HD Type 59 should be in 0.9.10
- Type 59 won't have its penetration nerfed
- VK4502B was changed to Mauschen "because we wanted to"
- MSAA antialiasing will be suported in the future
- TXAA antialiasing and optimizations in 0.9.9 should actually IMPROVE the FPS while improving the picture as well
